Lisa
Kleypas is the author of fifteen historical romance novels that have
been published in twelve languages. In 1985 she was named Miss Massachusetts
and competed in the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City, winning a
talent award for singing an original composition. After graduating from
Wellesley College with a political science degree, she published her
first novel at age twenty-one. Her books have appeared on bestseller
lists such as the New York Times, USA Today, Publisher: Weekly, and
Waldenbooks. In 1998 her novel "Stranger In My Arms" was give
the Waldenbooks Award for greatest sales growth. Lisa's 1999 release,
"Someone To Watch Over Me" won the Romance Journal's Francis
award, and the book has also been named a Rita finalist for Best Short
Historical. Lisa is married to Gregory Ellis, a vice-president at Ultra
Violet Systems Inc., and together they have one son, Griffin. Although
Lisa has less time for her hobbies these days, she still loves playing
her guitar, cooking, and working in the garden.
