Impetuous beauty Lady Amanda Rose was determined to escape the loveless marriage that her cruel stepfather would impose on her.  She never imagined that a mysterious, black-haired rogue from the New World would be the one to change the course of her destiny forever...

Fugitive of the Crown, unjustly accused of murder, Matt Grayson lay wounded and near death when Amanda first discovered him on the rocky shore.  Her promise not to betray him was soon replaced by a still deeper vowto give herself body and soul to this dark stranger who aroused a tumult of feelings unlike any she had ever known.

But a cruel twist of fate will throw them togethernot as lovers but as enemies.  Accused of betraying the man she loves more than life itself, Amanda soon finds herself on a shop bound for New Orleans.  There, she is the hated captive of Matt Grayson, as object to be scorned, punished... and as the ship inches closer to its steamy destination... ravished.

Jon caught Cathy's wrist, holding her in place while his mouth moved to nuzzle at the inside of her elbow.
"Don't leave me," he whispered huskily.
"I have to." Cathy's voice was weak as she battled the shivery sensations invoked by his warm lips. "You're too weak for...for..."
"I know." He looked up at her appealingly. "I just want you beside me. I sleep better that way. I have nothing else in mind, I promise."
"Well..." Cathy sighed. "Just as long as you remember. If you start to..to.."
"I won't," he promised, and watched as Cathy slid off the bed to lock the door.
He said nothing as she slowly came back to stand beside the bunk, a faint flush staining her cheeks. Knowing the cause of her sudden confusion, he grinned.
Cathy turned her back as she slowly unfastened her gown.
